Responsive, Mobile-Friendly Website for Radio Genius Show Prep Service

Responsive, Mobile-Friendly Website for Radio Genius Show Prep Service

By on Jan 3, 2017 in Blog, Landing Page, Portfolio, Responsive Web Design, Web Design, Website Redesign, WordPress

The current top trends in website design are mobile friendly, responsive and one-page sites. This website refresh for Radio Genius Productions, a radio show prep service in Los Angeles, shows that you can achieve all three goals without breaking the bank. The old website was a plain white page with a few logos and the visitor had to click on each of the logos to find out what those services were, and each one opened up in a different window. That added up to an overall bad user experience. (Old Website) Their new website changed that! The top “hero” section features a video playing in the background that compliments the client’s services. As soon as you land on the page, you know that Radio Genius Productions caters to Radio Shows and Hosts. As you scroll down the page, you are introduced to each of their 4 services with a logo, brief description and link to that service. Now when a visitor clicks on any of those links, they know exactly why they clicked on them and what to expect.   As you scroll down, you are then presented with a brief introduction to all the members of the Radio Genius Productions team. Social Media sharing options are present throughout the page and follow you as you scroll. While other web designers may offer you an “affordable” website, what you sometimes get is just a few images, text and a layout that looks like something from the “My Space” years. We here at JL Designs Web Services offer you high quality, results generating websites at truly affordable prices. First impressions are everything! Do not sacrifice potential customers by falling for “One-Time Only” deals. Click here for a FREE Website Design...

Residential Dining Solutions Food Service Website Refresh

Our good friend and client Robert Bracaliello, President & Executive Chef, at Residential Dining Solutions (RDS) food service reached out to us to give his website a much needed refresh / redesign. We originally designed his website a few years back, but now with the increase in mobile devices accessing the internet, it was time for a new design that would feature a responsive website layout in order for mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets to have the same experience as desktop users. A Responsive design automatically adjusts the content to fit the screen it is being viewed on, therefore there is no need for the mobile visitor to scroll left and right to view the site. Here’s a preview of the finished product. You can view the live site at rdsdining.com. Looking for a website for your business? Need a website redesign? Call us today at 951.251.4036 or use our online form here. We’ll be happy to provide your with a FREE quote.   What’s a Responsive...

Website Design for Actors: Ed Diaz – Film, Television and Voice Over

Website Design for Actors: Ed Diaz – Film, Television and Voice Over

By on Apr 10, 2013 in Blog, Portfolio, Web Design, Website Redesign, WordPress

As an actor, having a website is essential. It’s a great way to display your resume, headshots and contact information. Ed Diaz realized this and took the first steps toward having his own website by registering his domain name and signing up for web hosting himself. But the next step was unclear to him. He wanted a basic site that would allow him to tell the world who he was and how to get a hold of him, but he did not know anything about web design or developing. That’s when he contacted JL Designs. The web hosting company that he signed up with offered WordPress, which is a content management system (CMS). WordPress is a very user friendly platform, but to the beginner, all the options can be a little  confusing. We installed WordPress for him and completely set it up so that he did not have to worry about any of the settings. His budget was very small, so we helped him select and install a ready made WordPress template theme instead of creating one from scratch. Ready made WordPress templates may be fine for basic sites, but they lack the individuality of a customized theme that is designed with the customer in mind. Therefore, we would not usually recommend these ready made templates unless you’re budget does not permit for a customized site. Once the new site was setup, we loaded in basic content that the client provided for us which consisted of his resume, headshots, contact information and even a few of the movie posters from the movies he appeared in. Ed Diaz has made several appearances in Film, Television, Commercials as well as performed Voice Overs for several projects. You can view Ed’s actor website and professional resume at...
